African-American Read In

Throughout February as part of Black History Month, branches will be hosting reading events celebrating African-American authors. You can listen to great stories and take a turn reading aloud. Here is the schedule, please call your branch for more information.

Tuesday, February 2nd, 3:30pm Scotlandville Branch (Listen to Faith Ringgold’s book Tar Beach)

Thursday, February 11th, 11:00am Delmont Gardens Branch (Read aloud for children)
1:30pm River Center Branch (Read aloud for children, but all ages welcome to attend)

Saturday, February 13th, 2:30pm Main Library (Read aloud for all ages)

Sunday, February 14th, 2:30pm Eden Park Branch (Read aloud for all ages)

Monday, February 22nd, 10:00am Greenwell Springs Road Regional Branch (Hear third grade children from Merrydale Elementary recite poems)
4:30pm Baker Branch ( Read aloud for children and teens)

Saturday, February 27th, 2:30pm Jones Creek Regional Branch (Read aloud for children, but all ages welcome to attend)
4:00pm Carver Branch (Read aloud for all ages)
