It’s Mardi Gras time again! Of course we all know parades are not as much fun as library visits, but anyway, here is the schedule:
Saturday, January 30th, 6pm Krewe of Jupiter
Sunday, January 31st, 1:30pm CAAWS Mystic Krewe of Mutts
Friday, February 5th, 7pm Krewe of Artemis
Saturday, February 6th, 2pm Krewe Mystique de la Capitale
6:30pm Krewe of Orion
Friday, February 12th, 7pm Krewe of Southdowns
Saturday, February 13th, Noon Spanish Town Parade
4pm Krewe of Poseidon
We are not native to Louisiana or to Mardi Gras. We heard that some of the parades are not kid-friendly, and some are downright vulgar. Because of this, we only went to the Krewe of Mutts parade last year. Can you give us a run-down of each parade? We may want to go to more than the dog parade. Thanks.
The least kid-friendly parade is Spanish Town on Feb 13th. The others are family friendly, its just a case of picking where you stand. Some parades have an official ‘no alcohol’ zone. This site has some great info:
