Compassionate Book Club

At the Main Library each month we hold the Compassionate Book Club. It started as part of our Building Common Ground program from 2012 when we read Karen Armstrong’s Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life and focused on a different step each month. Members enjoyed the experience so much that we coined it the Compassionate Book Club in 2013 and are excited to continue it this year.

Join us next Tuesday, January 28, at the new Main Library at Goodwood at 7:00 p.m. as we kick off our 2014 Compassionate Book Club with a discussion of I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban by Malala Yousafzai. We’ll continue with a nonfiction title each month that focuses on the strength of compassion and the human spirit across different cultures. New members are welcome. All meetings are at 7:00 p.m. Mark your calendars for the following dates and visit our online calendar or call 231-3750 for up-to-date information on book choices.
