The Baker Branch Library will host African American Heroes: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Saturday, January 6, 10 a.m. – Noon. The program will honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Justice Sunday. A video of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech will be shown, followed by a dialogue and commentary about his life with Dr. Charles Vincent, professor of history at Southern University, and Ms. Evelyn Johnson, civil rights activist. Ms. Johnson was a friend / playmate of the four young girls who were killed in the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in September 1963 in Birmingham, Alabama.
