Join us tomorrow night at 7 (Saturday, March 14) for a special after-hours event at the Main Library at Goodwood. We’re screening a documentary from filmmaker Joe Sanford that examines the life and legacy of A Confederacy of Dunces author John Kennedy Toole. Cory McLaughlin, Toole scholar and author of the recent biography Butterfly in the Typewriter: The Tragic Life of John Kennedy Toole and the Remarkable Story of A Confederacy of Dunces, will open the event. This in-depth, intimate film offers a close look into the life and work of Toole, a true troubled genius who led a more eventful and complex life than many readers of his work realize. The film explores this creative-life-cut-short through interviews with scholars and personal friends of Toole’s and features a custom score using classic New Orleans music. Enjoy free hot dogs during the program! We hope to see you tomorrow night.
