Up Alliance Read and Release Party

This year’s One Book, One Community events are almost over, but there’s one last extravaganza that you won’t want to miss. Library partner organization Up Alliance is throwing a Read and Release Party to celebrate this year’s title and the success of another group of Up Alliance students.

(Just in case you’ve forgotten, this year’s title is Kingfish: The Reign of Huey P. Long, by Dr. Richard D. White, Jr. If you haven’t read it yet, get on that, Baton Rouge. Don’t miss out!)

OBOC 2016

The Read & Release party will celebrate the publication of the 8th annual Up Alliance student anthology of poems, short stories, and artwork, some of which were inspired by Kingfish. The anthology allows students to demonstrate the progress they have made in their education and career preparedness via classes offered by Up Alliance.

Join us in celebrating Up Alliance students and the end of 2016’s One Book, One Community next Tuesday, May 17th, at the Main Library on Goodwood. The event will begin at 6:30.
