Join us at the Main Library at Goodwood this week as we host featured authors from the 2015 LSU Young Adult Literature Conference. The theme of the conference is African American Cultures in Young Adult Literature and we will be hosting prominent authors throughout the week.
Tonight (Monday, June 1), Kwame Alexander and Jacqueline Woodson will be reading from and discussing their books at 7 p.m. Alexander won the 2015 Newbery Medal for his novel The Crossover while Woodson’s Brown Girl Dreaming was a 2015 Newbery Honor book.

Coe Booth, Wednesday, June 3, 7 p.m.
Booth is the author of the critically-acclaimed young adult novels: Tyrell, Kendra, and Bronxwood. Her first middle grades novel, Kinda Like Brothers, was released in 2014.
Sharon Draper and Sharon Flake, Thursday, June 4, 7 p.m.
Sharon Draper is the author of the best-selling novels Out of My Mind, The Jericho and Hazelwood trilogies, and Panic. She was the National Teacher of the Year and a five-time winner of the Coretta Scott King Literary Awards.
Sharon Flake is the author of the critically-acclaimed young adult novels The Skin I’m In, You Don’t Even Know Me, and The Unstoppable Octobia May.
