July 20, 2009 marks the fortieth anniversary of when man first walked on the moon. To commemorate the historic occasion we want to show you this great resource.
Moon Landing Memories is a collaboration between Footnote.com and the Florida Today newspaper. The site contains incredible high quality pictures, including scanned copies of the Florida Today newspaper front pages for the days surrounding the event. There are over 1700 pictures in total! The adjustable viewer on the site allows you to zoom in and out, change contrast etc. It really makes fascinating viewing to relive one of the most exciting events in history as it was seen at the time.
The Baton Rouge Astronomical Society (BRAS) have set up their own page on the moon landing and they are inviting people to add their memories of the time. You can see the thread here and add your own thoughts.
