Big Baby’s back in Baton Rouge! The fourth annual Booking It with Baby literacy tour starts tomorrow, July 10, and runs through Saturday the 12th. Los Angeles Clipper and Baton Rouge native Glen Davis will be traveling through his hometown via the library’s mobile unit to bring books and promote literacy to children in the community, including several stops at local libraries. Davis will be at the Eden Park Library at 9:30 a.m. July 10 to dedicate the first reading center of many (the goal is to add one each year) to be located at that site. He will conduct a site unveiling and participate in a story time from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Eden Park Library. The reading center at Eden Park will include tables, as well as smart tables with iPads and educational apps and programs, a story time floor, individual reading spaces, and manipulative and interactive centers.
Another tour stop is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 11, at the Main Library at Goodwood. The tour and the Reading Centers are a result of a partnership between the Glen “Big Baby” Davis Foundation and the East Baton Rouge Parish Library System.
