You remember the Baton Rouge Film Club, right? Of course you do. It meets at 6:00 PM on the second Monday of every month at the Greenwell Springs Branch and shows great movies like On the Waterfront, Blade Runner, and The Bicycle Thief. If you like great cinema, this is definitely the club for you.
To accompany their new Cult Classics series, which kicked off last Monday with the late Prince’s gorgeous film Purple Rain, the masterminds of the Baton Rouge Film Club are starting a movie review podcast. The inaugural episode is a spoiler-free tribute to the upcoming showing of Terrence Malick’s Badlands. The podcast features spoiler-free commentary on the film, including a summary, review, trivia, and ranking.
