The Library’s Author-Illustrator Program was founded in 1978. This year’s author is GENE YANG, y’all, we can’t, it’s too much.
Okay, yes, we can. 2016 MacArthur Genius Grant Recipient GENE YANG, author of books like Boxers and Saints and American Born Chinese and writer on DC Comics’ The New Superman (very excited!!), will give two talks at this year’s Author-Illustrator Program. On the 13th, everyone is welcome to attend the free session, where he will discuss his relationship with comics and how he grew to use them in the stories he writes today.
On the 14th, there will be a workshop for fans, teachers, librarians, writers, and parents on “Writing Comics” (8:30-10:00 AM) and “Comics in the Classroom” (10:30 AM – 12:00 PM). The workshop has a registration fee of $25 for regular people and $10 for students. You can find the form online! All you have to do is print it, fill it out, write a check, and mail all of those things to us. (The address is also on the form.)
