History Harvest: 2016 Floods

Were you or your family affected by the August 2016 floods? Did you participate in emergency response or cleanup? The Department of History at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette wants to hear your story.

Sunday, August 13th from 2-6 PM, ULL researchers will conduct short oral history interviews with flood victims, responders, and volunteers to preserve a history of the community’s response to disasters. Interviews will focus on events during and after the flood, how it affected the wider community of Baton Rouge, and how the disaster and community response compared to other events in Baton Rouge’s history.

This “History Harvest” is part of a larger study on community disaster response. For more information, please contact Dr. Liz Skilton, Assistant Professor of History, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, skilton@louisiana.edu.
