Carl Weber Book Signing

Please join us at the Scotlandville Branch Library on Tuesday, February 7th at 6:00pm, where New York Times Bestselling Author Carl Weber will host a book signing event along with co-author, Eric Pete.

AARP Tax-Aide Schedule 2012

AARP Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest, free, volunteer-run tax counseling and preparation service. This free service can answer most of the tax issues faced by low and middle-income taxpayers, with special attention to those ages 60 and older.

Recycled Reads Book Sale

Are you looking for a bargain? Come and visit the new home of our Recycled Reads Library Gift Book Sale. Here you can pick up some great buys from the large number of books donated to the library. Whatever your favorite fiction genre and non-fiction preferences, there is sure to be something for you.

The Recycled Reads sale is once a month on the last Saturday of the month. This month’s sale is January 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Proceeds of the sale go to the Patrons of the Public Library, the Library’s friends group. The Patrons of the Public Library help in funding children’s programming during the summer and throughout the year, such as the Author/Illustrator Program and other programs designed for the community.

Resume Day

On January 25th, at the River Center Branch, get help with writing your resume, cover letter, or completing online applications. Drop in any time between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. If you have one, bring a USB flash drive to save your work.

Drive-In Movie Night

Join us for some Christmas cheer with a family drive-in movie night! Come to the Main Library on Friday, December 16, 6:30 p.m. and watch two classic versions of A Christmas Carol. The animated Mickey’s Christmas and The Muppet Christmas Carol (my personal favorite!) They will be projected onto the outside wall of the library and we will be providing delicious popcorn for your moviegoing experience. For more information please call 231-3740.
